The Industrial Commission of North Dakota today approved $5,199,095 in Outdoor Heritage Fund grants for 11 conservation and recreation projects benefiting communities across the state.

The Industrial Commission of North Dakota today issued a Resolution of Appreciation to Jolene Kline for her 34 years of service to the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (Agency). Ms. Kline had informed the Commission of her retirement effective July 1, 2019.

The North Dakota Industrial Commission has approved $500,000 in Renewable Energy Program funds to Evolve Analytics, LLC for the development of Airtonomy, an autonomous, multi-drone operations solution that will be installed onsite in a custom drone housing unit. It will be powered by solar energy and operated remotely.

The North Dakota Industrial Commission has approved new eligibility limits for programs that assist state residents, typically first-time buyers, with a home purchase. Administered by North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA), the programs provide low-cost financing, and down payment and closing cost assistance.

North Dakota will need significantly more power generation in the next 20 years as electricity consumption is projected to increase by up to 70 percent, driven largely by continued expansion of oil and gas activity in western North Dakota, according to a new Power Forecast 19 (PF19) completed by Barr Engineering.

The North Dakota Industrial Commission has approved $500,000 in Renewable Energy Program funds to Hankinson Renewable Energy (HRE) for the installation of a Stack Heat Recovery (SHR) system. This technology will capture excess heat energy released from the plant’s dryer exhaust stack and recycle the heat back into the production process. In addition, the system will collect water condensation from the dryer exhaust stack for use in the plant operations. The project is expected to increase ethanol production at HRE by an estimated 10 million gallons per year.

The 66th North Dakota Legislative Assembly, with input from the North Dakota Industrial Commission, authorized Bank of North Dakota (BND) to offer two loan programs to help farmers, livestock producers and homeowners who were affected by river flooding due to ice jams in the winter and spring of 2019.

The state-owned Bank of North Dakota (BND) recorded its 15th consecutive year of record profits in 2018, with $159 million in net earnings, the Bank reported today in its annual report to the state Industrial Commission.

The program funds projects that involve research and development of renewable energy technologies and processes that have strong growth potential in North Dakota.
