The state-owned Bank of North Dakota (BND) recorded its 15th consecutive year of record profits in 2018, with $159 million in net earnings, the Bank reported today in its annual report to the state Industrial Commission.

The North Dakota Industrial Commission has approved $500,000 in Renewable Energy Program funds to Hankinson Renewable Energy (HRE) for the installation of a Stack Heat Recovery (SHR) system. This technology will capture excess heat energy released from the plant’s dryer exhaust stack and recycle the heat back into the production process. In addition, the system will collect water condensation from the dryer exhaust stack for use in the plant operations. The project is expected to increase ethanol production at HRE by an estimated 10 million gallons per year.

The program funds projects that involve research and development of renewable energy technologies and processes that have strong growth potential in North Dakota.
